Throughout the trial, self-defense has been the theme. "Jodi had to kill Travis". She had to? Really? For all of the reasonable people out there watching this trial, can you count all of the opportunities Arias had to escape if she were really in danger that fatal evening of June 4, 2008? She had ample time and opportunities to leave that house. Would a naked and wet man really chase her outside into his own neighborhood? Were there no working telephones in that house, how long does it take to just DIAL 911 - even if you don't speak a word to the dispatcher, the call is quickly traced and there would've been police there within minutes. She had to kill him, is that really what you want the jury to believe? Good luck with that.
After hearing for months about the abuse and battery Jodi Arias suffered, and how she had to defend herself or she would've been the murder victim - now Kirk Nurmi wants the jury to consider a new theory. In the heat of the moment, Jodi just snapped. Something happened, something made her snap. Again, it's not her fault! She was provoked, right? Juan Martinez was right on the money when he began his closing argument with the "it's not her fault" rants. At the time, I thought it was a bit dramatic and overly sarcastic, but having time to reflect on his entire closing arguments I've changed my opinion - it was brilliant. Nothing is ever Jodi Arias' fault. What little blame she does choose to accept are simply small concessions, the sole purpose of which is to make her seem more believable. She has to admit to some not-so-nice things doesn't she? She believes that will boost her failing credibility in the eyes of the jury.
Will today be the day that justice cries out for Travis Alexander? Will this be the day that Jodi Arias' lies come back to haunt her? Will today be the day she eats the most bitter words she ever has spoken "no jury will ever convict me, and you can mark my words on that"? As we eagerly wait for her fate to be sealed, may the justice be swift and the penalty severe - and may the countless friends and family of Travis Alexander finally have peace and an end to this tragedy. In life, Travis Alexander touched and inspired the people around him. In death, he continues to touch and inspire the lives of total strangers like you and I. Long after the news dies down and Jodi Arias is forgotten, Travis Alexander's legacy and memory will live on. NancyB posted a link to a handwritten letter from Jodi Arias to the Judge (not Judge Stephens) about her need to retain Kirk Nurmi as her attorney. Very interesting read! I thought I'd post the link here, in case you can't find it in NancyB's comments. It's a 5 page hand written letter:

This is very interesting - 2011 hand-written letter from Arias to Judge Duncan, concerning the ‘precarious circumstances of her legal defense’…especially the letter from Sandy Arias. The hand-written letter from JA, to Judge Duncan is also revealing. To read the letter from Mrs. Arias you’ll need to go to the Bottom of Page 5. Have a beautiful day!
PS - I sent Dr. DeMarte an e-mail after she testified in this case, thanking her for showing such professionalism and courage in providing what appeared to be the most accurate diagnosis of Jodi Arias of any of the experts. I wasn't expecting any type of response, but she actually did. It's brief, but I thought I'd share it with you all. Thank you again, Dr. DeMarte!!

Wow, how cool that Dr. DeMarte responded to you!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about Travis. Through Jodi's attempt to smear him publicly, she instead allowed us all an opportunity to get to know Travis and realize what a wonderful human being he was.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that today is the big day but, more so praying for the jury and that they have comfort and peace with this huge decision they have to make.
I read the link Nancy B posted, very interesting read!
My Forte! I love it that you emailed Dr Janeen. And very cool that she responded too! Thanks a lot for posting that.
ReplyDeleteI’m newly & especially aggravated to see JA's recent tweets about Juan & her outrageous tweet that the state refused to offer her a deal & then throwing in the non sequitur about suicide.

Just the friendly FYI,:I am NOT profiting from my artwork: But it seems like everyone else is.
NancyB,
DeleteI was also outraged at her recent Tweets about her not making money from her art sales! And the rants about wanting to avoid a trial and how many suicide threats is that now? Maybe now that we have a verdict her new reality will set in. This tweeting will bite her in the rear during sentencing...
I found this info on her artwork on facebook. Please send a complaint to Go Daddy.
ReplyDeleteRE: ARIAS SELLING ARTWORK…
If your not to busy today please feel free to file a complaint with Go Daddy about Arias selling copyright work on their site, Dior has been contacted and are looking into her copyright photo of their site, I just filed a complaint with Go Daddy as what she does is copy other’s work, She is not a true artist, she is a tracer of sorts. Happy Monday Justice for Travis TODAY!!!!

I wonder how Beyonce would feel knowing the "Jodi Is >Sorry can't type the word next to her name<" site has her Survivor video on their site to use as a marketing tool for Jodi's Survivor t-shirts.
DeleteHi Anon, I did not know that but that is a perfect marketing move for JA, is it not?
DeleteFor a refresher, here's a copy of her motion from 2011 requesting (ahem) a deal along with the implied threats that if the state turns her down that she will drag Travis' good name through the mud and gutter. Funny how she left that part out of her recent tweets about the state refusing to even consider a plea deal. It also contains the lies and out of context verbiage about Sky & Chris Hughes & Lisa's emails. There is one thing that I find comical about her motion. No defendant submits a motion for a plea deal! It doesn't work like that. Only the State can present an offer - never the defendant!
ReplyDeletehttp://grahamwinch.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/jodiariasngfile.pdf
But don't you see Nancy B, it's NOT HER FAULT that we had to go through this horrible trial! Just like Juan said, nothing is her fault! If the State and the family would just have listened and cooperated!
DeleteP.S. I mean this with heavy sarcasm!
I hope all the things that JA has said and done that was not admitted as evidence will be allowed in the sentencing phase. This jury needs to see how she profits from this crime and enjoys her infamy so that they can prevent the taxpayers from having to keep this waste of human life alive in jail for the rest of her life.
ReplyDeleteFrom your mouth Anon to God's ears. Please.
DeleteThe letter to the judge pleading him/her to do whatever necessary to keep Nurmi on her case...hmmm. First off, Nurmi had no other clients for nearly 2 years...sign of a good attorney? This was about the time that Nurmi got his raise from $125 per hour to $225. Just another example of Jodi Arias manipulating this case on behalf of her disgusting pig of an attorney.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, the money that Jodi says is going to domestic violence is a shelter in Long Beach. Coincidentally, that's where Alyce LaToilette practices. I wonder if ALV is going to somehow shelter or siphon the earnings for her.
ReplyDeleteWhy is that most trial analyst and lawyers saying it depends what the Jury is thinking whether they like Jodi or not. Also they said, by her being on the stand for so long, they might have developed personal relationship with her and they might reach the verdict on her favor. I am totally confused. Is the jury suppose to follow the law that are given to them and relay with the evidence presented to them during the trial? Why is that personally liking her and having this so called relationship have anything to do anyway. Please help?
ReplyDeleteI too am bothered by those comments, and it's common knowledge that the longer the jury takes, the better for the defense (not always true, but often true). What worries me even more is the 8 men/10 women. We have seen how Jodi wraps men around her finger, and I pray she hasn't sent out her evil charismatic vibe to some poor juror. And I hesitate to be honest, but lawyers weed out jurors with higher education, not sure why, and end up with whoever. All it takes is one "bad egg," someone with his/her own agenda. Remember--as someone said above--they see none of the things we see and discuss about JA. They have my sympathy, but let's get on with it.
ReplyDeleteThat was 8 men/4 women
ReplyDeletei am so ashamed of headline news
ReplyDeletewhat a circus is doing now!
This is a murdertril, and not a game show.
I'am new to america, have respect for the dead and the guilty.
I totally agree that HLN has lost their credibility with the some of the shows they are doing with this trial. Can't imagine what they were thinking... but they need to re-think it.
DeleteThe mormon Church will never allow her to do the Death Penalty.
ReplyDeleteIt was a Mormon blood sacrifice revenge ceremony.
And it will aproved on appeal
It's not up to the mormon church to decide on the death penalty. It's in the hands of the law and the jury.
DeleteRidiculous conspiracy theory... So you really believe that TA was such a horrible sinner that this was judgement by the church? What about incest? Why aren't they slaughtering the many, many incestous paligamists that live on these compounds? Think about it. And JA is just as guilty as TA! In fact, she was the corruptor and deserved it more if it was the case that she was taking him from god.
DeleteUse your brain for god's sake!
Anon (5/8 @ 10:45AM),
DeleteLike Juan Martinez said, "Jodi is just as Mormon as Travis was"!
My Forte - Anon is me Sonja :)
DeleteI have a theory I want to share with you... My mom and I watch a lot of cold case type shows and it seems to me that the guilty people don't cry when they get a guilty verdict because they already know they did it.
So I am curious to see if JA cries today. I bet she doesn't! But I also bet she doesn't smirk either!

ReplyDeleteManik theory on M1 & felony murder. I tried to copy but couldn't. @ManikSethisuwan
About evidence, stipulations,
exhibits, testimony and
nullifications. Juan has set Jodi
up. If jury follows rules they have to go with M1 or felony murder.
Anon (5/8 @ 4:22AM),
DeleteAgreed - Juan Martinez left zero wiggle room in his presentation to the jury for felony or premeditated murder. Love the way he used Arias' lie about it being Travis' gun against her too!
Nullifications of the killing: mean that though there was an action undertaken by Jodi with intent to either defend, hurt

DeleteThat's right. Even if you don't believe she planned it in late May, premeditation was established when she continued to assault him - certainly she knew cutting his throat and shooting him in the head would kill him. Not to mention the stabbing, this all took time. She had ample time for "reflection".
