Once again, Arias' shenanigans are causing delays in the judicial proceedings. She reportedly suffers from headaches and has been caught on camera taking her Immitrix throughout the trial. Her defiance and shock over the guilty verdict are not surprising after getting to know Jodi Arias through her jailhouse tweets and media interviews. This is a woman who shows no remorse for killing another human being. Near the end of her death penalty trial, she tweeted complaints about not receiving her commissary order, comparing it to awakening on Christmas day to no gifts! Does this seem like a woman who grasps the reality of the situation she faces? It's almost as if it's somebody else's reality, not hers. It's par for the course with Jodi Arias.
Due to scheduling conflicts with key prosecution witness Dr. Kevin Horn, the aggravation phase of the trial is expected to resume on Wednesday at 10:00AM PST, barring any further delays or bomb threats! Speaking of Thursday's bomb threat, a suspect has been detained for questioning by the Phoenix police department. I am not aware of the suspect's name, but a search of the suspect's hotel room revealed bullets - no gun, or explosives but bullets would seem to be an odd accessory to bring to a hotel room. It's not something that I pack in my travel bag. I'd be very curious to know where this person was when Dr. Janeen DeMarte's home was broken into and her laptop containing Arias' psychological reports was stolen.
When the verdict was read on Wednesday, the hundreds of people gathered outside of the courthouse erupted in cheers and tears. There were people who traveled from all over the country in order to support Travis Alexander and his family and who just wanted to be there when the verdict was read. Jodi Arias has her own group of supporters as well. As you all know, there are websites dedicated to selling Jodi Arias "original" (and I use that term loosely) artwork and that take donations to support Arias' jailhouse snack and vanity needs as well as her family's travel expenses. The site that proudly claims to be "The #1 Jodi Arias support site" has some sickening and very disturbing things posted there today. I've only visited this site three times - each time out of pure curiosity, but what I saw there today angered and sickened me to a whole new level. Freedom of speech would likely prohibit any of us from doing anything to get this garbage taken down or curb the distasteful content of the site. The website owner refuses to accept comments from "the haters" who don't agree with their agenda. He/she refers to supporters of Travis Alexander as "haters and pedo-huggers".
What I saw today was so disturbing. The author posted a rant that people like Travis (pedophiles) should not be able to reproduce. There is a photograph posted on that site that is guaranteed to infuriate you - I was hesitant to post it here, but since we started this journey together I feel I need to share it with this forum. To me, this is worse than the crime scene photos and takes distasteful to a level I've never seen - the caption to this photo says "Justice for Travis has long been served and here's the proof":

IF Jodi Arias is aware of the material that is being posted on this website, it shows how little respect she really has/had for Travis Alexander, his family and his friends. I believe her jealousy over the very people Travis loved and cared for has turned to bitterness and anger. This has only escalated as the jury rejected her self-defense and abuse claims. The depths to which these people have stooped to is incomprehensible. I did not post this photo for shock value or to inflame people. I am saddened and angry to see something like this out there on the internet. Killing somebody is not something to be proud of, yet this site seems to be thanking Arias for her sinful deeds.
I have only one more thing to say. Jodi Arias may have managed to delay the aggravation phase of her trial for a few days, but make no mistake - the trial will go on. She has been found guilty of first degree murder. Barring some unseen judicial snafu or blatant trial error she will be sentenced. It's too late for an insanity plea. It seems that Arias is still unwilling to accept any responsibility for her crime and is trying to delay her punishment for as long as she can. Even if she has no remorse for what she has done, you would think as a human being, she would still have some respect for the family and for the deceased. Her behavior doesn't correspond with the deeply religious person she wants us to believe she is.
The jury has spoken and the guilty verdict is a reflection that Arias' claims about abuse and sexual deviancy were rejected by these 12 jurors. Her post-verdict behavior in giving a media interview only furthers my belief that she is a true sociopath. I truly think she believed her testimony would minimize her punishment and set her free. As I've been saying since my initial posts back in November and December of 2012, Jodi Arias has underestimated the jurors who will hear her case while overestimating her own charm and intelligence.

I too have visited the site out of curiosity and each time I was struck by how delusional the commentors were completely blocking out any facts that disagree with their point of view. But this photo and commentary is truly reprehensible.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's father tried to kill me and my infant daughter on more than one occasion. I escaped him with her and the clothes on my back when I was almost 19 and she was 9 months old and we went into hiding. Years later when he died I did not feel sad about this person who had terrorized me but I still felt some regret that a person had died who would never have to chance to change his life for the better. Even for someone who held a gun to my head, who had described killing us and chopping us up, etc. etc. I don't say this to get sympathy just to say that no matter how horrible it was I didn't wish him harm, I just wanted my life and safety.
This is truly heinous and I can't stand what they are doing to the DV cause. I realize now that I actually had BWS. The intrusive thoughts, hyper vigilance, happened a few years later after we were safe. At the time I just thought I was going crazy :) No one explained it to me because this was the early nineties and there was no help or support or even awareness on a practical level.
How dare they risk women's lives and well-being on this vile woman's bullshit!

God bless you for having the courage and conviction to get yourself and your young daughter away from that dangerous situation. It takes a great deal of strength to break free from someone who is hell-bent on controlling you and intimidating you. It's remarkable that at your young age you had the foresight to get the heck away from that man! Thank you for sharing your story.
I really think Jodi will attempt something from prison. She'll get some prisoners involved in her evil web, it'll become her mission in life to seek revenge and she'll enjoy using her powers of manipulation to get what she wants from behind bars.

I question whether the JA supporters would be so enthusiastic about her innocence if she were not an attractive young woman. Can you see this type of effort being put forth to support a 60 year old silver haired woman? I strongly suspect Arias has cast her spell on these men who now are loyal supporters of her cause!
I thought the exact thing about her trying to escape from the psych ward and/or this is more of her girations of trying to squirm her way out of actually going to the prison.

Funny how she doesn't want to have the Alexander speak live. JA got to say whatever she wanted for 18 days and they have been quiet long enough. I have no idea how they showed such restraint but now is the time they should be allowed to speak.

I read this article late last night and I was mind-blown!! The article by Kristina is excellent as always BUT the article from Psychology Today, that she referenced in her article was CHILLING. It really is a truly EXCELLENT descriptor of sociopath from one that is self identified as one.

Such hypocrisy, making references to "irrelevant and inflammatory rhetoric" - wasn't that the defense's MO throughout this trial? And their attempt to introduce new jury instructions to be used in ALL future capital murder trials where victim impact evidence is introduced was grandiose. Just unbelievable. They want to limit this family's testimony to nothing more than a "quick glimpse of the life" of their murdered brother. Wow. The nerve of Arias and her defense team is unbelievable. Do they honestly believe they are doing the right thing, or has it become about winning SOMETHING, ANYTHING to them at this point? It’s amazing to me (but shouldn’t be) that less than 12 hours after JA (make up at the ready), says during that interview, “I just want death, the ultimate freedom”- the DT scrambles for a motion to shelf the DP… I’ve lost count of how many times she has said that she wants to die- how many times have we heard her say, “I was going to commit suicide”? so, geez JA, why fight so hard to vacate the DP?
ReplyDeleteSo, DT in chambers alone with Judge for 5 minutes. Then, 7 minutes later, DT and JA are in chambers and discuss motion to dismiss the death penalty. This lasts about 15 minutes and the judge deny’s the motion. Finally, Juan and the family, along with Jodi and the DT, are in chambers and there is a 45 minute discussion. Judge seals it all and orders court to resume on Wednesday, next week, at 10 am. What do you suppose they talked about for 45 minutes. ?? How can this family be so strong?

As I said in my post today, it's only a matter of time before the broken-finger-pointing begins ad she turns on her attorneys! I was seriously wondering about the Twitter activity. Is this type of evidence admissible during sentencing, and if so - why on Earth is she doing this?

DeleteI have no idea exactly who she was referring to, but the person who comes to mind is Matt McCartney? Maybe her attorneys asked him to testify for her and back up her pedophile allegations and he wouldn't - and she now blames him for her poorly planned defense? I think she's shocked the jury didn't believe her, it's obvious that she gets angrier by the minute! She will eventually throw both attorneys under the bus, that's a given. She's already saying "it was their idea to rip open the lid" on Travis' alleged deviancy. She tried so hard to make the jurors dislike the person they portrayed Travis to be, and I think it just infuriates her that people still hold him in high regards while they think she is a cold blooded lying killer. We haven't heard the last of Arias, that's for sure!!
