Or were they trying something else those other times to see what would stick? Anyway, I don't think it really takes that much legal knowledge and expertise to determine cruelty and how heinous one murder is over another. To say a jury basically cannot make that determination is pretty much a slap in the face, and also like saying determining guilt in the guilt/innocence phase of the trial was also a huge waste of time as well. Like what was the point in them even being there and even subjecting themselves to that in the first place! I would think a jury would know a murder such as a single gunshot to the chest or head is considerably less cruel and heinous than over 2 dozen stab wounds, slit from ear to ear...and a gunshot to the head wouldn't you say? But, none of my opinions matter a hill of beans...it's what passes legal muster, and has been brought into law for now, and Judge Stephens keeps denying these defense motions based on that.

I hope, My Forte, that Judge Stephens will set a hard and fast date for jury selection, but I have ceased trying to predict anything where this trial is concerned. As anything that can go awry usually does! I wish I knew some magical difference that could be made in jury selection, but the truth is, it will be as it will be, and the chips will fall as they will this time too. You just never know with that many people...with that many personalities converging to decide upon another's fate. Suddenly, what seemingly may be quite simple for some becomes incredibly filled with complexities for others. We could see something similar as before. Or, this time, there could be 12 people who haven't 'fallen under the spell' and because of that haven't bought all those lies, (THE ACT) which is what I think is largely what happened before! Like I said, ya just never know. But the one thing Arias can't say of her last jury even though they did convict her....she sure got a temporary reprieve!

Thanks for posting again My Forte. I always look forward to them. And it brings out others with good insights as well, with different things to bring to the table, that I enjoy very much. Just a most intelligent blog spot.

Have a great weekend!

~M. Bethnae~Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
